KEYS:
You will be issued a large building key and regular pool/gate key. Lost building keys are $50 to replace. There is a code for apt. Under no circumstances should you share/copy/lend ANY physical key or code. Violation of this policy could terminate your residency.
MAIL:
All mail should be mailed to a different location. **Do not mail things to this address**. See address on fridge for details where to mail.
VEHICLE PARKING:
There are about 30 spots marked “GUEST” at the rear parking area, available as first-come, first-serve. DO NOT park in any of the reserved (numbered) spots, or outside of designated parking slots. Your car will be towed. You can also park on the street, but not on the railroad side of Carolan Ave after 10pm (city restrictions).
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO SFO:
Crowne Plaza Burlingame hotel shuttle ($1), city bus #292 ($2.50), cab, or Uber ($7-12). Use 511.org to plan your trip online in real time if going elsewhere. Nearest BART station is Millbrae, 1.9 miles away. I have walked this and it’s a very nice walk, but the other option is to take BART from the airport (extra $5), OR there is a free shuttle from Broadway in Burlingame to Millbrae BART station, roughly every half hour.
COLD BED DEFINED:
Your rental rate entitles you to stay in the crashpad for a certain number of nights per month, in connection with your work schedules. You may stay here while on reserve duty, before and after work trips. You agree to be a commuter and leave the crashpad on your consecutive days off… Just be aware that this is not permanent residency.
PERSONAL ITEMS:
You need to bring your own twin-sized sheets, comforter, pillow and bathroom towel. Please bring a limited number of other personal items and label what is yours. Try to keep the apartment less cluttered by leaving items in random locations. There are designated areas for clothes, food, etc. Use your assigned closet area and bins. You will be given the following 1. Dry goods bin 2. Fridge bin 3. Toiletries bin 4. Under the bed bin.
LUGGAGE STORAGE:
There are two designated shelves for luggage (one on the right when entering the apartment and one near the dining table). These are a first come, first serve. Please do not label the shelves with your name. The shelves are not to be reserved. Please put purses and totes on higher shelves if possible.
BATHROOMS:
You can use any available bathroom at any time. Please keep your personal items in your drawers and on shelves when not in use. Please wipe counters and floors after use, especially hair from the walls, tub, and drain. Do not leave wet items on the floor. Either hang them on an available hook or outside on the balcony. Ladies: if you are doing makeup or hair in a restroom, please leave the door open in case someone has to go in there.
KITCHEN:
Everything in the kitchen cabinets is for your use -- except the cabinet above and to the right of the microwave (I have marked this area for myself). In the refrigerator, items that don’t fit in your bin should be marked with your name on the door. Same goes for freezer items. Dishes must be washed as soon as possible. It’s okay if you want to eat and then clean, but please be courteous to others using the space and for sure wash dishes before the end of the day.
FOOD/EATING AREA:
Absolutely no food in the bedrooms or bathrooms, this includes wines and any dark beverages that may stain the carpet (incidences have already occurred). Food crumbs can lead to bugs or mold and we don’t want that! Please do not eat in the room!
CLEANING:
Everyone is responsible for keeping the apartment clean. *Think crashpad, not a trashpad.* There are plenty of paper towels and cleaning supplies available, so please wipe your messes. If the trash is full, please take it out (there’s a trash chute conveniently located at the end of the hall on the staircase outside between the 1st and 2nd floor).
LIVING ROOM NOISE:
Once again, the crashpad is primarily a place for rest between trips and not for partying or hanging with friends who do not live here. Rest takes priority over everything else. If someone asks you to be quiet, please respect their needs.
BEDROOM NOISE (important):
Crew members may need to sleep at odd hours, including the daytime. If the bedroom doors are closed, assume that someone is sleeping in there. If so, bedroom must be kept quiet.
DAY GUESTS:
Please use your discretion. An occasional friend or two over is fine, but please do not have them over for a prolonged period of time. If possible, inform current occupants your intention to bring someone over. No guests ever in the bedrooms. DO NOT SHARE KEY CODE WITH ANYONE EVER!. Violation of this policy could terminate your residency. If you are a resident and are uncomfortable with a situation, say so. It is your place after all.
OVERNIGHT GUESTS:
At a rate of $30 per night. An occasional stay of a non-crashpad person is permitted if there is an available bed -- An overnight guest may not share a bed with you. The overnight guest must be someone you know well and must be preapproved to stay. Any resident who has a guest sleeping in the crashpad without prior approval will be asked to vacate.
RENT POLICY:
Acknowledgement: I understand rent is due the 1st of every month, my deposit will be returned as long as a 1 month notice is given and keys are returned. I have also received a printed copy of the house rules. I have read and understand that not adhering to house rules could lead to warnings and possible eviction.
We appreciate all suggestions on how to improve the crashpad and we will correct any problems as soon as possible, however we will not tolerate drama. Tenants who do, and/or are reported by others as exhibiting unacceptable behavior will be given a warning. Please don’t make us have to come talk to you. ☹ Not adhering to the above house rules will lead to warnings and the possibility that we will ask you to look for housing elsewhere.
Anonymous comments may be dropped into the mailbox behind the TV. If there is anything you need in the crashpad, cleaning supplies, etc, please do not hesitate to text us directly so it can be purchased for the crashpad asap. Computer/TV issues should be directed to our Cheif Technologist.
When you have finished reviewing the house rules, please see agreement *HERE*
