How to Use TV / KODI

Setup Information

We have a "set top box" called Nexus Media Player. It looks like a big hockey puck, so I'll call it the puck. Like a cable box or Roku, the puck plugs into the TV and is basically a small computer. You can control it from your phone using Android TV Remote (links below) or using the slim back remote embossed "Nexus". The Sony TV remote also controls the puck, but won't be part of this tutorial for simplicity. I prefer using the slim black remote for speed, but the app is obviously more convenient.

Getting Started

We have a smart TV, but I would recommend using the puck as it is more powerful and flexible. The puck is plugged into HDMI4 on the TV. When inactive, the puck will display beautiful photographs. Pressing any button will stop the screensaver and resume the previously displayed screen before going idle.

From the main menu of the puck, select the KODI app to get started. If you want to watch Netflix, just select the Netflix app instead of KODI at this point.
